Abstract

Customs and customs administration plays a key role in protecting the interests of the European Union, especially in the sphere of finance and economics. Also, equally important role of customs administration is to protect the rights of citizens and companies / enterprises that operate within the European Community. In this sense it was established the Customs Policy Group, consisting of representatives of the European Commission and the directors of national service duties or their representatives. The strategic evolution of customs, which is defined by the Customs Policy Group aims to achieve a higher degree of efficiency and effectiveness of national service duties and to simultaneously achieve a greater degree of cohesion and homogeneity in the system functioning duty throughout the European Union (the principle that national administrations within the European Union work as a single administration throughout the territory).
